About North County Stone Soup Kitchen
Mission Statement
Our mission is to deliver, with the help of volunteers, home-cooked meals to the homeless and to provide healthy, nutritional food to the community in need.
Our Story
The Stone Soup Kitchen “project” was originally started to provide a commercial kitchen for anyone in need of a facility to be used to provide meals to others in need.
Since that initial vision, the kitchen has been used solely by Meals with Love, a nonprofit that delivers homemade meals to people that are unable to provide meals for themselves.
More recently, we have seen the need to provide food for the homeless, and people that are not able to provide sufficient nutrition to their families have grown dramatically. Especially in the wake of Covid.
Because of this need, the vision changed to create the Stone Soup Pantry to utilize the existing kitchen and facilities to provide homemade meals for the homeless and utilize the available space to produce “baskets” of basic food items to be distributed to needing families in the immediate community.
With the help of volunteers, we hope the “Pantry” will help bridge the gap for those in need.
